The Armidale Diocesan Investment Group (ADIG) Partners with Centacare to Launch an Innovative Financial Literacy Program for Multicultural Communities
Armidale Diocesan Investment Group (ADIG) is proud to announce its collaboration with Centacare in launching “Money Matters for All”, a groundbreaking financial literacy program tailored for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community members.
The program, which kicked off on 4 November, aims to empower new Australians with essential financial knowledge and skills to navigate the Australian financial landscape confidently. It covers crucial topics such as spending, saving, banking, and goal setting in a safe and welcoming environment.
“Understanding finance in a new country can be overwhelming for our multicultural community members,” said Grant Devine, CEO of ADIG. “Through ‘Money Matters for All’, we’re committed to bridging this knowledge gap and fostering financial confidence among new Australians.”
The inaugural session proved to be a resounding success, with participants actively engaging in discussions about saving for visas, overseas travel to visit family, and even complex topics like insurance.
Yesy, Centacare’s Multicultural Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the program’s impact: “It was heartening to see class members participate so eagerly and grow their financial confidence. We believe we’ve helped them take control of their finances in their daily lives.”
The course content is flexible and responsive, having been modified based on participants’ feedback from the first session to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
Looking ahead, the partnership aims to expand the program’s reach with additional sessions planned for the future. Those interested in participating can contact Centacare on (02) 6762 9200 for more information.
This initiative underscores ADIG’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion and supporting the successful integration of new Australians into the broader community.
