On Wednesday 28 September 2022 volunteers from St Edward’s Parish, ADIG and the Chancery office of the Diocese of Armidale offered their time to help provide lunch to vulnerable members within the Tamworth community.

The Heart of Peace (HOPe) Kitchen is a social justice ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Armidale. This weekly food kitchen seeks to provide members of our community with a hot meal and an environment of friendliness and belonging without discrimination.

Feeding the hungry, one of the corporal works of mercy, is a visible expression of the mission of the Diocese of Armidale. The ADIG is proud to be able to be a part of this mission alongside the other volunteers from the Diocese.

At HOPe Kitchen we believe that every human person should be treated with love, dignity, and respect. All are welcome at our table and everyone is treated as a special guest.

Volunteers Chris Da Silva, George Nulley (ADIG) and Peter Fardy of Mary, Help of Christians parish in South Tamworth, get ready to serve a meal at the HOPe kitchen.
